“Lyon Opera Ballet at BAM” – Ads We Didn’t Skip

Ad: “Lyon Opera Ballet at BAM,” BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music)

Agency: In-house (footage provided by Lyon Opera Ballet)

Why: When 90% of ads are soundtracked by saccharine jangling ukuleles, a deep, ominous drone can be especially effective. It drew me into the French-baroque-meets-Matthew-Barney (breasted and bearded and bird-headed) scenes of modern dance.

Will I buy what they’re selling?: Well, I didn’t, and now the show is over. But it did remind me that I enjoy seeing dance at BAM and that I’m long overdue for a visit. (Obviously the ad was delivered based on my location.) Short answer: yes, I’ll buy a BAM ticket for something, in the near future.
