“Meat Feet” — Ads We Didn’t Skip
Ad: “Meat Feet” for Betabrand
Agency: Betabrand does its own advertising.
Why: Jaws-like tension in a coffee shop? I was intrigued, and figured I could spare the 19 seconds to see the outcome. However, the ad left me with a bad taste in my mouth, for the socks specifically and sandwiches in general.
Will I buy what they’re selling?: For myself, no — I’m more the plain-black-socks demographic. However, they come in this fun assorted deli three-pack and include sock insurance (genius). So I could see buying them for my teenager, a big fan of deli sammies. For me, I’ll stick with Betabrand’s .xxx site.
